Brookfield Asset Management, through its private equity business, has entered into an agreement to acquire Gregg Distributors for an enterprise value of approximately US$1.16 Billion(C$1.6 billion). Gregg Distributors is a leading Western Canadian supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products, serving customers across the oil field services, construction, trucking and major project sectors.

The company has deep employee-ownership roots through Gregg Distributors B.I.G Mutual Fund Trust, which enables employees to hold an indirect ownership interest. The transaction, announced in August 2026, is expected to close by the end of the year, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

The acquisition will bring Gregg Distributors into Brookefield's global investment portfolio while supporting the company's continued growth across Canada's industrial supply landscape.
