Chariot Resources Limited (ASX:CC9) has acquired interests in a portfolio of lithium exploration and mining licences in Nigeria, marking a significant cross-border transaction in the country’s emerging solid minerals sector.
The transaction forms part of Chariot’s strategy to establish a foothold in Nigeria’s lithium market through a majority stake in a multi-asset portfolio comprising exploration licences and small-scale mining leases across key project clusters. The assets, which span several hundred square kilometres, are considered among the more substantial lithium holdings in the country and are expected to support early-stage exploration and potential development activities.
The acquisition has also been supported by regulatory approvals from Nigeria’s Mining Cadastre Office, including the transfer of multiple licences into Chariot’s joint venture structure, paving the way for completion of the transaction and commencement of exploration activities.
