The Education Investment Impact Fund of South Africa (EduFund), managed by Old Mutual Alternative Investments, has acquired Trematon Capital Investments’s founding stake in Generation Schools to support the group’s next phase of growth.

Founded in 2016, Generation Schools operates multiple campuses across South Africa, with plans to expand its curriculum and infrastructure under EduFund’s institutional backing.

A key focus of the investment is scaling Generation Trade Schools, the group’s vocational and technical education arm, to help address South Africa’s shortage of skilled artisans and high youth unemployment.

Growth initiatives include expanding vocational pathways, opening affordable campuses in underserved communities, increasing South African curriculum-based schools, and strengthening industry partnerships to improve workplace learning. The existing management team will remain in place to ensure operational continuity.
