Group Five Limited has formally concluded its business rescue proceedings, marking one of South Africa's most significant restructuring outcomes to date. All creditors, including concurrent creditors, have been repaid in full, with a surplus now expected for distribution to shareholders.

When Group Five entered business rescue in 2019, the group faced approximately US$428million(R7 billion) in creditor and contingent exposures, more than 2,300 creditors, 119 active construction projects, and close to 6,000 employees across 38 countries.

Through a carefully structured wind-down involving more than 60 entity and asset transactions, value was preserved, jobs retained, and recoveries maximised for stakeholders.
