Hitachi Energy Acquires Canduct Group to Strengthen North American Grid Supply Chain

Hitachi Energy has completed its acquisition of Canduct Group, a leading manufacturer of transformer insulation kits and components, strengthening its North American electrification business amid growing demand for grid infrastructure.

Founded in 1982, and headquartered in London, Ontario, Canduct supplies transformer insulation solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) and repair companies across Canada and the United States, operating facilities in London, Cambridge (Ontario) and Boardman, Ohio, with a workforce of more than 300 employees.

The acquisition enhances Hitachi Energy's regional manufacturing capabilities, helping address transformer supply chain constraints while improving the resilience and delivery of critical power infrastructure. The transaction also supports broader efforts to expand electricity networks and accelerate grid modernisation across North America.
