Kivalliq Alternative Energy Completes Nunavut's First Connected Independent Power Producer Project

Kivalliq Alternative Energy Ltd.'s Solar and Energy Storage Project in Naujaat, Nunavut, is now online and exporting renewable energy to the local grid. The project is Nunavut's first independent Power Producer (IPP) project delivering power to a local grid, in a remote community historically dependent on imported diesel. The project followed more than five years of work involving the Government of Nunavut, the Government of Canada, Qulliq Enery Corporation, the Hamlet of Naujaat, and the development and construction team at Kivalliq.
