Letshego Africa Holdings has entered into binding agreements to sell its interests in subsidiaries across Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda to Axian Digital Venture Holdings and Management Limited (ADVHM).
The proposed transaction forms part of Letshego's portfolio optimisation strategy, aimed at simplifying its operations and sharpening its focus on its core Southern African markets. The divestment is expected to improve capital efficiency, strengthen the group's balance sheet and enhance long-term shareholder value, while allowing Axian to expand its footprints in digital banking and financial services across high-growth African markets.
The affected businesses will continue operating as normal pending the fulfiment of regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The transaction reflects ongoing consolidation within Africa's financial services sector as institutions reposition for long-term growth and greater operational focus.
