The 475MWac (620MWdc) Notsi Solar Photovoltaic Project in South Africa's Free State has reached financial close, paving the way for construction of one of the country's largest utility-scale solar developments. Developed by Anthem, the project is expected to commence commercial operations in May 2028 and will supply renewable electricity to commercial and industrial customers through long-term wheeling agreements with Discovery Green and NOA Group.
Once opeartional, Notsi is expected to generate enough vlean electricity to power more than 100,000 households while avoiding over 900,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The project forms part of South Africa's accelerating private renewable energy market, strengthening energy security, expanding clean power generation and supporting the country's broader energy transition through large-scale corporate electricity supply.
