Ontario Court Appoints AlixPartners as Receiver Over Ortino Group Following US$13.43 Million (C$18.5 Million) Default

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) has appointed AlixPartners Restructuring, Inc. (formerly KSV Restructuring, Inc.) as receiver and manager over Adriel Ortino Corp. and eight affiliated landscaping, excavation and construction entities collectively known as the Ortino Group. The order, granted on May, 21, 2026, came on application by Bank of Montreal, to which the group owed approximately US$13.43 Million(C$18.5 million).

The court noted that the Ortino Group had effectively ceased operations amid persistent financial and reporting defaults, failed forbearance discusiions, and mounting liquidity pressures. With restructuring efforts exhausted, receivership was deemed the appropriate path forward.

AlixPartners has now been tasked with taking control of and realizing value from the group's assets, including its fleet of landscaping, excavation and construction equipment, marking a significant enforcement action in Ontario's commercial real asset and equipment sector.
