Student Living Accommodation Fund Established to Expand Student Housing

The Student Living Accomodation Fund (SLAF) has been established as a South African private equity fund dedicated to expanding institutional-quality student accomodation across Southern Africa.

Designed as an impact-focused investment vehicle, the fund aims to address the region's growing shortage of purpose-built student housing while supporting long-term, sustainable infrastructure development. Its structure incorporates blended finance solutins and public-sector participation to mobilise capital for the education infrastructure sector.

With a mandate spanning South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho and Namibia, SLAF is expected to play a key role in improving access to quality student housing, supporting higher education institutions, and generating long-term social and economic impact through strategic investment in essential social infrastructure.
