Woolworths has acquired 100% of in2food Holdings, one of its longest-standing suppliers, from its founders, Old Mutual Private Equity and other shareholders for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition strengthens a partnership spanning more than 30 years and gives Wooolworths greater control over the production, quality and supply of its premium convenience food range.
In2food, which generates more than US$299 Million (R5 Billion) in annual revenue, supplies private-label ready meals, fresh produce, bakery products and long-life foods, while also serving local and international customers, including Marks & Spencer. The transaction reflects a broader trend of retailers integrating key suppliers to improve supply chain resilience, drive innovation and support long-term growth in South Africa's competitive premium grocery market.
